In early October 2016 we visited Chorleywood Community Orchard as they celebrated Apple Day.
There are around 140 apple, plum, damson and cherry trees growing in the orchard. Nearly 60 varieties of apple have been planted, many of them, such as Brownlees’ Russet and Lane’s Prince Albert are local to Hertfordshire.
We were able to talk to the Orchard volunteers and get some tips about choosing and growing local apple varieties which was very helpful.
